What is an ATIRApay card?
The ATIRApay card is a Visa debit card that provides easy access to your pay. Each pay period your paycheck is automatically credited to your ATIRApay card account by your employer. You can use your ATIRApay card to make purchases, access cash at ATMs or pay bills.
Where can I use my ATIRApay card?
Your ATIRApay card can be used:
- at almost any merchant that accepts Visa debit cards
- online for purchases and bill payments
- at financial institutions that accept Visa debit cards to make cash withdrawals
- at any ATM that accepts Visa debit cards
What special transactions should I be aware of when using my ATIRApay card?
- Gas Stations – Paying at the pump may cause a pre-authorization that will reduce the amount of your available funds by at least $75 until the exact cost is processed; to avoid this consider paying inside and signing the receipt.
- Restaurants – Restaurants may verify you have enough funds in your ATIRApay account for the dining bill plus a 20% tip. This will reduce your available funds until the exact cost is processed. Make sure you have enough funds to cover any added tip or ask the cashier to authorize only for the amount of your bill and leave a cash tip.
- Hotels – Hotels may hold the amount of your estimated bill and make that amount unavailable for other purchases. The hold on your funds may take up to 30 days to be removed.
- Auto Rentals – You may use your ATIRApay card for final payment for a rental car but, a credit card may be necessary to reserve a rental car.
- Returning a Purchase – Store return policies may vary. You may receive a credit to your ATIRApay account, a cash refund or a store credit. A credit to your account may take up to one week to process before it is available.
When is my payroll credited to my account and available for use?
Your payroll funds will be immediately available for withdrawal on your normal paycheck distribution date. Make purchases or withdrawals up to your available balance or withdraw only a portion of your pay and leave the rest in your account. This money is available to you 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.
In addition to my pay being credited to my ATIRApay account, can I make additional deposits?
Only payroll funds from your employer can be deposited into your ATIRApay account.
How do I activate my ATIRApay card?
- For your protection, immediately activate your new ATIRApay card by visiting www.atirapay.com or by calling the customer service number on the label on the front of your card. This call will not count against the number of free monthly calls you receive.
- Sign the back of your card.
- Once you have activated your card and funds have been loaded into your personal ATIRApay account, you may use your card.
- By activating your ATIRApay card you accept the accompanying terms and conditions.

Are there any merchants that don’t accept the ATIRApay card?
The ATIRApay card is a Visa debit card, which most merchants accept. However, you may want to confirm in advance with merchants, especially car rental agencies and hotels.
How can I verify the balance in my ATIRApay account?
- Verify your account balance 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, free of charge, at www.atirapay.com.
- Call the toll-free ATIRApay customer service number displayed on the back of your card. Please refer to the ATIRApay fee schedule for details on fees.
- Verify your account balance by selecting BALANCE INQUIRY for CHECKING at an ATM that accepts Visa debit cards.
Do I receive a monthly ATIRApay card account statement?
A monthly statement will be mailed to your address on file with your employer.
When can I access my account?
You can access your account via www.atirapay.com 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.
What services are available from the toll-free Customer Service number?
- Activate your ATIRApay card

Is there a limit on the number of times I can access my account information?
- You may access your account for free as many times as you would like on www.atirapay.com.

What should I do if my ATIRApay card is lost or stolen?
If your card is lost or stolen, you will be covered under Visa's fraud-liability policy. Call Customer Service immediately to report your missing card and a new one will be issued to you. See the Fee Schedule for details on Customer Service calls.
When will I receive my replacement card?
Replacement cards will be issued immediately and should be received within 7-10 business days. Emergency replacement cards should be received within 3-5 business days. See the Fee Schedule for details on Card Replacement Fees. Please remember to change your ATIRApay card account number with bill pay services like gym memberships, Internet providers, etc.
If my card is lost or stolen, can other people use it?
Since the ATIRApay card is a debit card, it is possible for an unauthorized user to use it. To protect your account, call Customer Service immediately to report your card lost or stolen.
What if there is money left on the card and it is lost or stolen?
Your ATIRApay card is covered by Visa's security guarantee. Unlike cash, if you lose it or it is stolen, your unused balance can be returned to you when you report the loss or theft in a timely manner.Does the call to activate my card count toward my free monthly Customer Service calls?

No, you do not need to maintain a minimum balance on your ATIRApay account.
Do I have to withdraw my entire pay on payday?
No, you do not have to withdraw your entire pay on payday. You can store your balance on the ATIRApay card until you need to use it. Gradually use your card to make purchases at point-of-sale merchants or withdrawal cash from ATMs.When I make a withdrawal at an ATM, the screen prompts me for account (e.g., Savings, Checking, Money Market, etc.). Always select CHECKING when making ATM withdrawals.
Can I request balance inquires from an ATM machine?
Yes, you can request a balance inquiry from an ATM. The screen will ask you which transaction you want. Choose BALANCE INQUIRY. Then the screen will ask which account you want to access. Choose CHECKING. Some banks, credit unions, or ATM operators may assess a surcharge when using their ATMs for any purpose.
Will I be assessed ATM charges for using the ATIRApay card at local banks or credit unions? If so, will the charge be added to my withdrawal?

What do I need to do to change from a payroll card to direct deposit?

Personal information can be changed on your ATIRApay card account by accessing www.atirapay.com. You should also update your information with your employer.Can I order courtesy checks for use with my ATIRApay card account?
No, courtesy or convenience checks are not available with the ATIRApay card.What are the security features of my ATIRApay card?
- The card cannot be used until you activate it.
- Cash access and cash back at a merchant are accessible only via your assigned personal identification number (PIN). Cash Advances are available only at a financial institution and proper identification will be required to complete the transaction.
- For your security and privacy, withdrawal and purchase transactions cannot be seen by your employer.
- If your card is lost or stolen, you will be covered under Visa's fraud-liability policy.
